Spring 2018 proved to be a challenge for area baseball teams in what was one of the rainiest seasons in years. But the 2nd Annual Patrick Shifflett Memorial Baseball Tournament started off on Friday, June 1 st under clear skies. Games continued on Saturday until the tournament was cut short by torrential downpours late Saturday.

All teams were able to get some games in and enjoyed participating in this popular tournament. This year’s tournament featured 60 teams ages 10U – 14U from all around the area. Once again, we asked each coach to present the Patrick Shifflett Character Coin at the end of each game to the player that best represented the character, courage, determination, and sportsmanship that Patrick showed both on and off the field. We look forward to continuing this tradition at next year’s tournament. Despite the rain, we were able to award the top seeded teams with trophies.
